Kenada
I remember the first time I saw Akira. I rented it from a local comic shop and had to leave my student ID with them because people kept renting copies of the movie and never returning them. It was an amazing experience and probably formative in how I express myself today. Kenada was the name of the antagonist and he wore an awesome (for the late 80s) red leather jacket with a huge pink and blue capsule on the back. I may or may not be googling “Kenada leather jacket” in another window as I write this. If you were to purchase this painting, I can say that there is a good chance that your payment will go toward making teenage Aaron’s dreams come true… looking like a bad-ass animated character voiced by Cam Clarke (Keneda is easier to pull off than Leonardo). I did this little painting as a social media clip, but love the way it turned out.
